Argentina Wine Tours
Homeland for numerous “Bodega’s” you will enjoy visiting, Argentina has become one of the top destination in wine-touring. Accounting for roughly three-quarters of all vine plantings, the region of Mendoza situated in the west of the country is Argentina’s largest wine region. Also called “the land of good sun and of good wine”, Mendoza became home for Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Tempranillo. Malbec stands as one of the top red wines, as for whites - a local grape called Torrontés is used for producing fresh and aromatic wines, not unlike those made from Muscat. The vineyards extend from the foot of the mountains up to about 4000 feet above sea level. Other areas of less importance are: North of Mendoza - San Juan, Córdoba, La Rioja, Salta, Jujuy and Catamarca, to the south are - Río Negro and Neuquén. |
